ARG!

Ok, we had a sign on the door to the break room that we had a mandatory staff meeting this morning - never good. WEll, we've been waiting for it. WE heard about if from the other night rotation. The 'night shift sucks ' meeting. Well we had ours this morning and I am furious! I wasn't really bad mad at the end of the meeting, but once we all got out and some of the others started ranting about it and really put into focus what had just happend, then the temperature started to rise. After a 30 minute ride home, I'm sooooooo MAD! Since she had a few patient comments about ' night shift ' not doing their jobs well, and yes there are one or two people that are super lazy and don't do their job in my opinion, she wrote up the ENTIRE night shift. Guilty by association. WE had to sign a peice of paper that named the things that she talked about during the meeting. Well, after it was all said and done, we realized that by signing that we basicly admitted being guilty of such things. And I'm 95% positive that we now cannot transfer for 6 months. Thanks alot. It really makes me want to live up to being the kind of nurse that is on that peice of paper now. I remember one of the phrases on the paper was " does not meet the basic needs of the patient." WHAT!!??? WHAT??!! This freakin Job doesn't meet the basic needs of my well being. Whatever. You know that song ' take this job and shove it? It's going to be on my ipod by the end of the day so I can listen to it on the way to work tonght. :o)

Oh no! That is not right for her to write up the entire shift for something one or two people are doing (or NOT doing, by the sounds of things). :( I'm sorry!

That sucks! It doesn't sound fair at all.

did you all sign one paper or seperate papers??? We have to sign stuff like that at work if we ran a register that came up short. But we sign stating that we don't know the reason for the shortage. anyway maybe if you all signed the same paper is just proof that she has been over the information with you and you can't deny it. We have those kind too!

Nope it was all seperate, so they we will each now have a sheet in our files. I have NEVER been written up for anything. Now that some losers can't do their job I have been. My song is downloaded now;o)

Doesn't the patient die if you don't meet the basic needs of the patient?
Did anyone die from neglect? If not, her statement can't be true. If what she said is not truthful then she is either a liar or acting on bad information. Either way, not good.
These are the kinds of things supervisors do when they do not know what to do. It sounds like this person does not know what they are doing: not you.

Exactly.....I think the basic need of the patient is to breath and have a heart beat....lol. I think that single statement is what had really got everyone all upset. She would have really done herself a favor if she didn't add that statement.

Ok that was not Lee that just made the last statement.....somehow I was signed in as him. haha
