Wind down

This first night off is always hard. I'm so so tired, but my body thinks that since it's night time, I should not be laying down and getting still. OR maybe I'm just so tired I'm not sleepy anymore...I don't know. This past week was horrible! I always think I can never top a bad week, but I always do and get a new " most awful week ever ". They wore me down enough that tuesday night some of the other nurses finally said" Heather do you feel alright? You look like you feel awful. " Gee Thanks......lol. I got so sick of hearing the call light go off, the secretary answer, hang up and then............. " Oh Heather........ " I finally started talking like I was not Heather. I'd say " Heather says to leave her alone for 5 minutes. Heather is calling in sick tomorrow night. " LOL. I think they really thought I would last night. When I showed up Kaila was like " OH you DID come! " AT least it's OVER! And we had a staff meeting Wednesday morning ( cutting an hour of sleep out of my day ) that basicly told us we suck. HA! They are all about patient satisfaction percentages.....blah blah. You are never going to get 100% satisfaction from sick cranky people. I did get a stars online to ad to my collection at that meeting. IT's a little nomination thing that is submitted by your peers for doing something " above and beyond your duties " I told Lee I'm going to make a spot on a wall in one of our rooms for those and my diplomas, my Phi Theta Kappa certificate and anything else I accomplish. I can put my certification letter up there I just got in the mail. I am now a certified LPN. Now I can start IV's and hang IV meds and fluids.....etc. A Small pay raise... ( not worth it ). I did the training course last fall, then I had to do a TON of check off stuff and then submitted all the paper work to the state board just a couple weeks ago. What else can I put on my wall??? LOL! I think I still have some 2nd place ribbons from relay races and stuff in elementary school....HAHAHA!

The value of a person is not in what they acquire but rather in what they give.
That is why people in your profession are priceless.
Regardless of the ribbons you have, or not. You're worth more than that to the last person you checked on, whether they know it or not. Keep up the good work....
